Bright and bold autumn style

Fashion stylist Rivkie Baum styles two of our much-loved Autumnal styles with bold, bright and contrasting pieces, giving us eye-catching style inspiration for the months ahead.

Heading into a new season is always exciting and this year even more so. I think we are all ready for a fresh change and A/W 2020 is all about mixing fabrications and adding pops of colour to your wardrobe. But of course, injecting colour and style doesn’t mean compromising on comfort and luckily Hotter has shoes that are perfect for running around in.

Leanne

Leanne is the perfect hybrid of sneaker and everyday chic shoe, the added contrast stripe on the shoe adds a real luxe finish to the design. I’ve styled Leanne for three very separate events and the shoe in all its colour ways will keep your feet happy all day, but you won’t feel like you’re putting a stylish foot wrong either.

The black Leanne’s with their mixed leather and suede details are perfect for an evening out and I’ve paired them with a Seventies inspired look that still feels ultra-modern. This boho, free spirited era is very much in for the upcoming season so embrace paisleys and pussy bows but use tougher outerwear like leather jackets to add an edge to this look.

I love the olive with the contrasting metallic stripe which really elevates the finish of the shoe and makes them perfect for those slightly smarter occasions. There’s definitely a move towards softer formal dressing and so a smart trainer is something you’re going to want in your closet. Pairing them with a seasonal silhouette must have, the puff sleeve in a cream knit and some timeless, but equally very on trend check trousers you can dress this look up or down with a quick switch of jewellery.

Casual shoes with a dress is a tricky one but once again Hotter’s attention to detail with the faux snake stripe across the top of the shoe gives this casual piece of footwear a runway worthy touch. For the wine coloured Leanne’s I’ve kept to the purples but mixed it up with lilacs and lighter tones. This season is massive for cardigans and checks with both being seen on the catwalk at the likes of Dolce and Gabbana, Chanel, Burberry and McQueen.

Rapid

If you prefer more of a high-top boot combo then look no further than Rapid. Again, integrating comfort technology into their shoes is super important at Hotter and with several colour options these shoes are easy to style for the Autumn season for everything from an evening out, to meeting friends or even a work meeting. You can rest assured that you can run around all day and still feel great at the end. I love the mix of metallics and faux animal leather options in the Rapid as it makes for a very chic shoe.

I love the pewter Rapid’s for a dressy event and have teamed them with a chic pair of brocade trousers with a hint of metallic to tie the shoes in. It is certainly harder to wear an athleisure style shoe for an event but the metallic execution smartens this comfy piece of footwear up so you can be stylish and relaxed too.

I love the chic moc croc finished and the zip side details add a rockier edge to this pair of Rapids. I have paired it with a distorted on trend animal print and a snug Seventies inspired roll neck. You could wear this for any smart casual occasion. Having some black in the print ties these shoes in perfectly.

For a great day look team the faux snake Rapids with a great basic pencil skirt. This season is all about injecting fun and colour and this neutral, earthy coloured skirt ensures the grey of the shoe effortlessly blends in and the clash of the two snake prints is great fun. Don’t be afraid to double up on prints for a fun and modern look.
