In June 2015 a blazing fire ripped through our Maidstone store on Week Street causing thousands of pounds of damage and the store to close, but hurrah a year later the store has been refurbished, looks amazing and a new team are finding the shoppers of Maidstone shoes to fall in love with once again.
On Thursday 30th June The Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr Derek Butler, Mrs Mary Butler and John Scholey, the Town Crier of Royal Tunbridge Wells and Westerham joined us for an official ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the reopening of the store.
A huge thank you to Cllr Derek Butler for cutting the ribbon and welcoming Hotter back onto Week Street. He said “On behalf of Maidstone Borough Council it gives me great pleasure to be here at the reopening of the Hotter store here in Maidstone. After the fire which destroyed the store last year it’s an important achievement that the store has reopened, not just for the store and employees but for the whole retail sector here in Maidstone. I wish the Hotter store great success, Week Street is an important part of Maidstone’s shopping experience and its reassuring to see the recovery of the area after the fire.”
To celebrate the reopening we also invited eleven bloggers along to the store the evening before the official ceremony for an evening of drinks, nibbles and of course lots of lovely shoes!
“Thank you for a fantastic evening! Loved my Hotter moment!” The Wildflower
