Britain’s first official sleep ambassador Des Wilcox got in touch to tell us why he needs durable shoes and how he was introduced to Hotter.
“I realised how essential good footwear was when I was 15 years old having just started work as an apprentice barber, standing for 9 hours a day. I was introduced to Hotter about 20 years ago by a Hotter customer, at the time I was wearing shoes that were wearing down very quickly and needed to try something else.
“My favourite pair of Hotter’s I have are my GORE-TEX® Thor shoes. Since I’ve had them, I’ve been wearing them in the garden on wet days, the waterproofing being 1st class! And the shoes are more supportive than wellingtons. They’re great for long walks too, a favourite of mine is around Tittesworth reservoir in Staffordshire, there is a good visitor centre with lots and parking and you can’t get lost, its one big loop around the reservoir.
“I would certainly recommend Hotter shoes to my family and friends and anyone else who is interested in quality, my next purchases are likely be to the dual fit Lance, then for the bad weather another pair of GORE-TEX® shoes, and lastly a pair of Slide slippers for when I’m sitting in front of the log burner.”
Did you know…For three months this Summer Hotter fan Des Wilcox became Britain’s first official sleep ambassador for Sealy! Des was hired (and paid!) to test out beds and dream away. Beating 506 other applicants, Des knew he was perfect for the job, he’s renowned amongst his family and friends for being able to fall asleep absolutely anywhere. On the job he tested out beds, pillows and duvets as well as trialling some sleep aids and snooze-enhancing diets, zzzzzzz (how do we apply?).
