Shoes that look fabulous and feel amazing will be showcased by Hotter at the inaugural Fit not Frumpy conference in Northampton on September 19th.

The UK’s biggest shoemaker is highlighting a selection of its British made shoes at the event organised by the Society of Shoe Fitters and the Healthy Footwear Guide.

“Women deserve footwear choice, and whether the shoes are for work or for play they should be confident that their footwear feels great and fits perfectly,” said Hotter CEO Sara Prowse.  “Our latest collection includes on-trend man tailored boots, loafers and brogues; athleisure inspired lace-ups and our Hotter Originals, which have been hand selected by our founder.

“We’ve also created a selection of shoes for work and going out with hidden Comfort Concept® features, such as cushioning, space for toes to wiggle and flexible soles so women can enjoy their day without having to worrying about sore or aching feet.”

Fit not Frumpy Conference

The University of Northampton, supported by the University of Salford, will welcome shoe retailers, industry professionals and clinicians to their campus. The Fit not Frumpy conference will consider the importance of well-fitting shoes and highlight recent research that supports the need for greater shoe fitting knowledge within the industry.

The event will provide guidance to inform the shoe fitting process and offer insights into developmental work in the footwear industry. It will feature academics from across the University’s Science, Health and Arts disciplines; Dr Mike Curran, Associate Professor in Podiatry will discuss the Healthy Footwear Guide, Rachel Garwood, Director of the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies, will deliver a presentation on leather as a footwear material, and Chris Hill, Senior Lecturer in Footwear and Accessories, will discuss footwear design.

The conference will also feature presentations from expert shoe fitters, who will share their experience and explain why professional shoe fitting is so important for the health of the nation.
