Come rain or shine our bloggers have accepted the Christmas Markets challenge and as many of you will know, if you are not wearing the right footwear, outdoor excursions can soon become a day trip disaster!

First to accept the challenge and to get us well and truly in the festive mood was Aberdeen based blogger Anastasia, author and curator of the wonderful Natbee’s blog, who decided to select a pair of shoes from her local Aberdeen store, for her first festive trip to the Scottish capital.

Anastasia was born is Greece and educated in England and now resides in Aberdeen. She loves travel, fashion and food and we thought she was the perfect person to combine all three loves and take to the streets of Edinburgh in comfortable and cushioned Hotter shoes.

Anastasia was on the hunt for the perfect pair of Winter-ready shoes for wandering around Edinburgh’s cold cobbled streets, first stop was her local Hotter store.

While trying on the shoes in store I had to go through a major dilemma as there were so many pairs that I liked and of course I had to try them all! The store was welcoming and inviting and the staff helped me with each pair I tried on. The pair that I loved and nearly chose were the Belle boots, they were a bit wide in fit so I had to drop a size and a half, but they were dreamy and made me feel like I was walking on clouds! They would look perfect with a pair of jeans and a cape in the forest or an A-line dress and relaxed scarf in the city.

The style Anastasia settled on was the smart and stylish Village brogue from the Man Tailored collection. The Tan leather colour option perfectly complements the autumnal city backdrop and looks wonderful against the burgundy, cream and mustard clothing colour trends that dominate the high street at this time of year.

Edinburgh is renowned for its cold winters, hearty food and amazing Christmas Markets that light up the city centre every year from 19th November to the 7th January. Once Anastasia visited the Aberdeen store and selected her shoes, she hopped on the train to Edinburgh in the Village brogues for some festive fun.

Regarding the shoes, we were wandering around the cold streets of Edinburgh – this was the first weekend that the temperatures were really low – and even though my pair of shoes were brand new they were still soft and supple and did not hurt my feet at all. The fit was perfect for my size and the design is absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I was looking for. I cannot wait for the festive days to follow and to style them with thick colourful tights and floral dresses!
