When the stars of our last #HotterWalkies campaign went back to their normal lives, after being doggy divas for the day, we donated the coats worn by them to a local charity.
Merseyside Dog’s Home opened in 2013 in a bid to rescue lost and stray dogs across the county, since their opening the charity have rehomed over 2,400 dogs! This means on average they are helping to rehome around 600 dogs per year. When we sent them our beautifully hand-knitted coats from Sirdar, the charity were thrilled. They told us “we cannot tell you how touched the staff were to receive them. One of the dogs in our care at the time,Tricerachops, came in at half his recommended bodyweight so it was a real treat for him to have a nice jumper to keep him nice and warm.”
The fundraising team at the charity work hard to raise funds taking part in events, fundraisers, attending schools, colleges and universities. They recently attended Liverpool Hope University with some of their rescue dogs during Mental Health Awareness Day, of which all the dogs taken were rehomed!
